Digital Imagery : Digital painting is a process whereby a digital photograph is transformed with the use of “brushes” into a unique work of art. The brushes are used very much as they are in traditional painting, with size, texture, and strokes chosen to achieve the desired effect. Each digital painting is the result of hours of effort. The first step is obviously to obtain a high quality photograph… In the case of nature photography, this can mean hours in the field, waiting for the right opportunity. Once the photograph is obtained, it is processed digitally, producing a traditional photograph – as nearly perfect as possible.  It can be printed and used as is, or transformed to a greater or lesser degree into a painting – one stroke at a time.
